Are dealers more willing to cut you a deal on a purchase if they think you will service the vehicle at their dealership?

Reason I ask...I'm looking at buying from a dealership about 50 miles from my house, and wondering if that puts me at an obvious negotiating disadvantage (in their eyes).

If you are buying a dealership, wouldn't they provide you and your family complimentary vehicles? Why would you not have them serviced there.

I bought a car last week and one dealer 50 miles away was certainly trying to beat the local dealers price and sell me the car i wanted color etc. And he was well aware of my location.

I've seen the opposite. They won't cut the price but they will throw in free oil changes or whatever.

They don't care. They get the money and service is typically covered at every other dealership.

There are a few things that certain places won't do like one time I had zaktech paint protection. Bought the truck in Springfield MO at Reliable Chevrolet, but when I moved to North Carolina they didn't provide that service. I called back and got my money back.

Same with gap a lot of people buy gap with the dealer. I always got great rates, but would refinance and I'd call the dealer to get the remainder off the gap. Gap is ALWAYS cheaper with a bank/credit union versus dealership package.
