capital one has purchased all of bank of Americas mortgages....the last time they did that, they restructured those and acquired everything else as well.

Ignoring any other myriad of things, its not even remotely financially possible. I feel like I'm getting trolled here.

I nearly shat myself when I read this.

That's like a gerbil trying to mount an elephant.

Also, I don't think COF bought out their mortgages either.

I think you are confusing BOA and ING.

Must be. I work closely with them daily and have known about ING for a while. No way in hell they could aquire BOA.

The mortgages deal is done.

I didn't really think much of the rest of what was said, that was pretty just going by what I heard.

The ING deal was announced like 6 months ago.

Yeah that stuff usually isn't kept secret very well at all. There were rumors about it for several months before that given COF's expansionary stance and ING's continued dismantlement, it seemed that they were just waiting for conditions to improve before announcing it in hopes of gaining the necessary regulatory approval (which didn't really work given that its still dragging along).

I hope the insanity of suggesting that COF buy or bought either 1) all of "the mortgages" of BOA or 2) buying BOA itself is not lost on any one else. Where are JT, Russian, and tirebiter?

Is the thread title extremely misleading and outrageous to anyone else that read it?
