Wife is looking at cars so we've been shopping Internet pricing and got a pretty good deal. The salesman sends me an offer sheet that lists "Protection Plus" for $385.

What is this? And do I need it?

Thanks

Looking at Toyota sounds like. You can decline it or get them to 'waive' it, just a profit gimmick. Email me if you need pricing on anything

That's what I figured.

Coach, wife is looking at the new Honda Pilot. We got a offer sheet of 35,500 for the EX-L.

I'm still curious as to what exactly this is. Extended warranty? Paint job?

Usually consist of the 'plastic/rubber' guards installed on the door edges (keep from scrapping at paint when you hit/open against objects/other vehicles) & front grill/hood (protect from rock/road debris). Just another 'package' to help hold gross

Very good price. Given they will not add "installed options" upon your arrival.

Does Honda have "installed options"? The only options are Nav or Sensing and those have separate listings.

Door edge guards are legit.

It varies by dealership. Some will add accessories and up charge for it.

waive it if you can, but it can be hard especially if its a popular car. We got it waived on our subaru, had to pay it on our VW and got half credit on our nissan.

We got 4 dealerships in the NOLA area (northshore to Houma) to come down to 35.5. Then Pat Peck in Gulfport offered a EX-L with sensing for 35.7 & that was the deal I needed.

I'm interested in the pilot, but I'm going to wait this out for a while longer.
My wife has one that is 10 years old that we are ready to trade in.

If anyone in the NOLA area is looking for a Pilot, Sedrick at Royal on Vets was great to deal with.
