Buying Home Used Vs Building One

Hello. I would like to start this off by saying it has been a long time since
I have said anything on here.
My Wife and I are thinking of buying some property near Ponchatoula.
Awhile ago, we purchased a used home in Denham and own 2 acres with a pond.
There just isn't enough room as our family is starting to grow and our 3 bdrm, 1300sqft house is starting
To shrink.
I don't even know which way to turn out the metaphorical driveway. I do want to build. Where should I start looking for land if I want to build in Ponchatoula? Who should I have build my home?

Not exactly Money board related reply, but from someone who is from here, check out the west side of town.
That, or look in Bedico along the St Tammany line so you can send your kids to Mandeville.
