GEUXT, this may be a better forum to ask since this board gets a little agnsty at times: White Coat Investor Forum
My wife is a physician and I've spent alot of time researching that same question.
General Savings account is your best bet for what you want to do.
I will make an argument against your approach, though. Instead of savings for a down-payment, dump that $$ into the students loans. House debt is better than student loan debt. So in a year if you have to borrow 100% with a physician loan but have significantly less student loan debt you'll be in a better overall financial position, regardless of the what the student loan rate is.
Get out of here with that helpful advice bullshite. This sandbagger is making millions being a doctor and his cheap arse wants every extra % point he can get? Frick him and his hot wife and unborn child. He and your wife might be physicians, but I'M THE ONLY MATHEMATICIAN HERE.
sincerely,
