automatic bank-to-vendor payment question

A local business that I have always paid each month now wants everyone to setup automatic bank-to-vendor payment. They will automatically take their payment on a certain date each month. This business just decided that is is how they are going to take their payments.
I do not let anyone do this. I pay the bills cash, check, or I pay online myself.
Do I have the right to refuse this company into my banking account and just pay them cash each month?

Can you just pay when you use the service?
Is it like a pool cleaning deal... weekly visit but monthly bill?

If the bill varies each month then I might have a problem. But, if the bill is the same then I probably wouldn’t. For example, I have car insurance set up where they draft the same amount from my checking account each month and I don’t have a problem with it.

Of course you do, just as they have the right to not perform services for people who do not pay according to their guidelines
but just call them and tell them that you strongly oppose setting up an auto deduction and would like to continue doing business with them and see if there is a compromise
