Probably buying a car tomorrow. Need to show proof of insurance to do so. Ran the last vehicle through my wife's small business, so her commercial insurance carried it. Not going that route with this vehicle purchase.

Live in the BR metro area (which translates to sky high auto rates).

Any recommendations on carriers ?

Well her commercial insurance is likely a $1,000,000 limit and if it's intended to be a family vehicle it's not wise to expose the companies insurance cost burden to a rate hike if a loss comes in that you could have has separated. Congrats on backing into the right decision.

Thanks.

Yea, admittedly I backed into it. But, it's the right move none the less.

Any advice on carriers? My homeowners is with UPC and they don't write auto insurance. Was hoping to get a multi line discount.

GEICO uses UPC to underwrite their Homeowners, so use GEICO and get the multi line discount.

They were the best rate when I recently shopped around.

Compared GEICO and Allstate. Geico was $60 a month cheaper. Thanks for the tip.

I know they offer a discount on HO when attached to an auto policy. Was just informed this this week if I attached to progressive. Ask your agent
