Anyone thinking about refinancing student loan debt

Stay as far away from Sofi as possible. Some of you may remember my post about my father in law asking me to take over my wife's loans after 13 years of marriage over a month ago. Well, as of yesterday Sofi was still f'ing around with the loan. It was always the same bullshite about many checks and balances. The even approved the loan in which we signed then they pulled it again for further review. I could go on but I don't need to. Just stay away from them, it is a total clown show.

Maybe it is just you. I and many others on this site have had great success refinancing with them. Sorry to hear about your troubles with them.

Yeah I'm not sure about your exact situation but I used SoFi and it took about 15 minutes and was and has been painless.

So will you not be going to the SoFi social gatherings that look so fun on the commercials?

Was that for a re-fi? My stituatuin should be a no brainer in my opinion. We make plenty of money, have little debt, own a home with a low mortgage payment and both have excellent credit.
Like said, they approved us and the docs were e-signed. Then they pulled it for whatever reason.
ETA: the only thing I can think of is my 1099 form of income, but I gave them tax returns for as far back as they requested. Those 1099s showed increasing g income every year.

I refi'ed with SOFI.
Could not be happier.
It is probably something up with your application. Instead of bad mouthing them on here which will get you nowhere, how about you work to address the issues on your application.

If it's something with my application you would think they would have pointed this out in the last month. They deserve to be bad mouthed in my opinion. Their communication was horrible too.

There is something you are not telling us. Which is fine we don't want to know.

Nope. Nothing that I am aware of.

they are OT regulars and pulled it after they found out your name is Janky

That makes more sense than anything else.

I've had a great experience using Sofi.

As others have said, I used SoFi and got approved within 4 hours and got the money the next day. Customer service has been great. Sorry to hear though.

Sounds like they don't really want to refinance your loan.
There are about 10 other options, maybe try one of those?
