Anyone lend out money on Bitconnect or DavorCoin? Looks like a typical ponzi scheme to me. Just wondering if anyone here has tried it and what results you've had.

I’ve been on Bitconnect since Nov ‘17.

I put in $5k. I compounded for the first month. So, my total active “investment” is around $8k.

I get ~1% daily interest (between $80-$120 each day).

I’m just moving that into my coin portfolio until my $5k is released back to me.

It is risky, sure. But my $5k was fun money.

I also have some play money I was gonna use. If I lose it its not a big deal. If I make some money, great.

And nothing about this raises any red flags with you at all?

Something, something, fools and money.

Ponzi schemes are great if you get in early and get your investment and gains out of the system.

Bitconnect has averaged around .9% DAILY interest payments for the last 6 months with their “wink wink” bitcoin trading bot program.

So in less than 4 months you’ve gotten a complete return of capital. Not bad.

So some fools do part with their money and get a win.

Personally, l hope it continues for a long long time but it’s not possible - unless the interest rate drops very low or new money keeps coming in.

ETA: Their system was down yesterday. Their Twitter is claiming it’s under a serious DoS attack and they are working to resolve it. So don’t send them any $$$ right now, if you were considering it.

So what happened to Bitconnect today? Is your "fun money" gone?

ETA:

quote:

Bitconnect, the lending and exchange platform that was long suspected by many in the crypto community of being a Ponzi scheme, has announced it’s shutting down.

In a release on its website the platform said the shutdown is attributed to “continuous bad press” surrounding the platform, two cease and desist letters from both Texas and North Carolina’s securities boards, and continuous DDoS attacks on the platform.

While the platform says they’re refunding all outstanding loans at a rate of $363.62 USD (an average of the token’s price over the last 15 days), the Bitconnect token is currently trading down ~80% and worth less than $40, so while users may have been made whole on a BCC-equivlent, many are certainly suffering severe financial losses in terms of USD or Bitcoin (which is how they made their original investment).

RIP
