I found a turn key operation for $5900. I would be relocating it to a better location but how much am i looking at making? My wife is a teacher and could do this in her summer break and on weekends when school is in. Truck seems to be in good condition as are the 3 freezers. He said it included $1200 worth of ice cream. he didn't say why he was selling and i have an email into him to see gross sales and mark up.

just wondering if anyone has tried and been successful or has failed.

Hell, yeah, I do!!

When I was a kid I'd buy ice cream off of a truck almost every day during the summer. I can still hear the recorded music that truck played....

I don't understand how these guys really make all that much money.
You are driving around slowly all day burning a ton of gas it would seem.

she usually does swim lessons or baby sits during her summer break so this would allow her to set her own hours and take vacations when ever we choose. shes a hard worker and is willing to do most anything as long as she gets to sleep in.

do you just get in touch with a local vendor? go to sams? i imagine i can sell more than just ice cream. chips, candy, chocolate, soda, water. all at very inflated prices. dozens of neighborhoods have community pools and in the upper middle class area we live most of these kids are at the pool with mom most days. or at summer camp at the local church or organization. i bet i could make some deals with them to show up once a week. hmmm

and the lack of competition has me really thinking seriously about this.

I see plenty of ice cream trucks at construction sites. Senoritas be wearing swimsuits and they make pretty good money. I suspect a little side business may be going on to though.

Your plan sounds ok in theory but just remember someone else is escaping this industry for under $6k......so that alone would cause me to worry, $6k is almost nothing and this seller is just giving up....

Get her to wear a bikini. She'll have more business than she can shake a tit at.

Have you looked in to the cost of licenses and insurance?

janky the palleta dealers I see over here on their bicycles have no license. In the cutthroat ice cream business to succeed you've gotta be a renegade and that means cut all costs and go at it with no licenses.

I had a lemonade stand when I was younger and made serious bank... Half the men asked for beer though...
