If you added a $70,000 pool, you might be able to add $14,000 to the sales price

Not interest deductible, which is one of the reasons why I intend to pay off earlier than original length agreement.

But getting $30K at less than 6% unsecured seemed (and still does) like a great deal to me.

Don't do it! The happiest time I had with our in-ground was when we sold the house. It's like owning a boat only worse.
