American Funds R2 to R3?

Email I received today from HR:
Our company has elected to change participants 401(k) share class from R2 to R3. This change will go into effect on December 1, 2015. Please read through the attached Notice from American Funds and the Expense Comparison provided.
Can anyone explain what this means?
