People that pay little taxes have little income.
They are the ones that need the help. In order to pay 15K in taxes, you would have to make at least 90K, im guessing. Does that person need that much help to buy a home?

If I'm understanding it right, you filed without the tax credit ON PURPOSE, then went back and did an amended return and claimed the $7500 tax credit?

I just want to know how exactly you managed to get around it, because on TaxSlayer you can't put in a "future date" when it asks for the "purchase date" on the credit form.
