Big news.

Feels like this team should have no problem fielding a “Number 2” corner. Doesn’t look like they’ll have a true 1 though. They’ll have to prioritize DT over that.

I got so wrapped up in the start of baseball and the two basketball wins that I forgot how much I love to see some football news. Looking forward to spring practice here in a few weeks.

Now this right here has the potential to be huge. Man, I'd love to have him on the field full speed against SC.

We don’t know how good JK Johnson is yet.

That is great news. Once he had played several games last season, Alexander had improved dramatically...specifically looking back for the ball which is something a lot of CBs have problems with. ZA usually had good coverage but as Kelly mentioned mid-season, he improved dramatically in the aspect of playing the ball in the air. Alexander is a very important secondary guy for next season IMO.

He turned into a serviceable No. 2 guy in a good defense. Problem is he was asked to be the No. 1 guy in a bad defense.

You must have quit watching LSU play after a few games. At the beginning of the season he was a subpar CB because he was never aware of where the ball was. Once he became trained as to how and when to look back for the ball, he became an SEC caliber starting CB. He was not remotely terrible in the games right before he got hurt in the Army game.

No, but we know how good he’s not. He’s not good enough to start at Ohio State. They are loaded, so maybe he’s an SEC quality starter, but he isn’t an LSU caliber CB1. If he was he’d be the CB1 at Ohio State.

ACL? Wasn’t it reported as an ankle? They did the same with Boutte.

why the f would they wait this long to say he tore his ACL? We were told for weeks about his injury status like it wasn’t a season ending injury?

Zy being healthy is huge for the defense to turn it around this year. Need his leadership and he’s a long corner, which is what we need

That's good news. But, I'd temper expectations. Being cleared and being game ready are two different things. His injury was in late October. Surgery was in November at the earliest. Unfortunately, the math isn't on his side.

Might want to take back your Alexa. He got hurt in the Army game. It was on an INT return right before halftime. Here is the quote about the injury.

"LSU got the big 62-0 win over Army on Saturday night in Week 8, but the team didn’t emerge entirely unscathed despite not giving up a point.

Cornerback Zy Alexander, a transfer from Southeastern Louisiana who has started all eight games on the outside, left the game with a lower leg injury. He reportedly could not put weight on his ankle and was ruled out."
