It's awesome what the camera catches these days. A simple little spider on a hat. A Bama coach picking and eating his own nose nugget in the booth. Patrick Peterson's foot clearly coming down in bounds after intercepting Bama, though the replay officials somehow didn't see what the rest of the world saw. The camera just doesn't miss anything any more

You missed the point. The question is not whether spiders are good at defense, but whether playing defense is considered rallying.
