...as a consultant?

I looked across this board for confirmation but could not find it.

Apparently he was the Asst. HC for Barry Switzer at Oklahoma when they ran the wishbone and option (won two natl titles in his time there)...and he faced Paul Johnson before when Paul was at Ga Southern. They hooked up in the championship game that Paul won 48-21.

Lacewell is supposedely a defensive expert on the TO.

Looks like it is somewhat true...here is one link I found.

I dont mind it at all, its better than Miles "acting" like he knows how to defend the triple option and getting beat by 30..

This is not uncommon. Do y'all remember Bill Oliver that was the DC at BAMA during 92 when we played Miami? Coach Saban brought him to BR to help LSU prepare for the NC game in 2003.

Lacewell, 71, is a talent consultant with the Dallas Cowboys and looked at film of LSU players and spoke to Miles about Tiger players.

He works for the Dallas Cowboys and was evaluating talent. Where did you come up with LSU hiring him? They may have spoken about the triple option, but that's a big jump to 'hiring him' as a consultant.

ESPN Radio mentioned LSU brought in a consultant to teach them some things about defending the triple option.

Not a big deal...just something else to talk about.

Like I said Les is a genius. Your going up against an antiquated offense. The TO offense died because DCs figured out how to effectively stop it. PJ resurrects it and it works again. It works now because people have forgotten how to defend it. Les Miles brings in an expert on defending it. The Hat rules!

I also remember ESPN mentioning that Miles would be Michigans head coach and that Muschamp was Auburns new head coach.

Hive you missed the most important part of my post!

GT TO is just a gimmick offense that will die off sooner than later. Experienced older coaches like Lacewell will be the undoing of PJ and GT.

You didn't see that "search" button and didn't type in "Lacewell", did you?

it is logical to do so...
I just do not know why we did not bring in a QB coach for a couple of clinics during the season.

ego ???? who knows
