You ever think that maybe the media is why our coaches look retarded?

O brought it on himself.

But back in 11, ESPN had a segment where they had Les try grass from different fields. Remember that?

Or the part of the show where they all tried to imitate Coach Os voice in 2019?

Now with BK. They're doing this accent bullshite to make him look silly. They always find something.

Really glad we have a coach who can shut them up though.

Les really didn't need much help from the media.

Just seems like LSU is the target for a lot of silly shite like that.

So glad he is gone. The elephant in the room was how much he was holding the program back and there was a stretch of time where negative comments about him were carefully guarded on this forum. I got banned twice over the years for making super benign comments about his stupidity.

LSU is the “lovable drunk uncle” of college football to the national media. Fun to rag on and never a threat to the “blue bloods”. We haven’t been respected since Saban (although the media disrespected us enough to name USC the AP champions) even when we had National Championship seasons. LSU will never be respected until we establish a dynasty.

This. It doesn't matter how many titles we win, if we keep disappearing for two or three years between them, we'll never truly be respected.

The media definitely has made us look retarded. I like the The Waterboy movie but they made it for a reason....it's how they literally view us.

Hollywood to me is part of the media

I saw the biggest change in Les when ESPN began referring to him as the Mad Hatter. He stopped calling any trick plays after that, and we became very vanilla on offense. I honestly believe it's a direct correlation.

That shite is such a reach too! He was just fricking talking. They’re pushing that fake accent thing so hard like wtf? The Yankee liberal media just can’t fathom the thought of the flagship in Louisiana having a normal coach who doesn’t do stupid bullshite so they make things up.

I really hope Kelly sees all of this and it lights a fire. He’s done nothing to poke the media. There’s no reason to start fricking with him already.

He lost that Mad Hatter mentality after the 2008 season. That year and the 2012NC had the biggest negative effects on him, his confidence and style IMO.

Les could maybe not eat grass and/or tell ESPN to take their grass-eating segment and shove it up their arse. He willingly participated. So it’s his fault when he get portrayed as a cartoon character. Don’t put that on the media. If you’re an LSU fan, you watched him enough to know he was a dumb arse and that LSU won in spite of his game day coaching.

I think some are just overly sensitive. CLM and O stuff was funny as hell and I don't think was meant to make us look retarded...it was for humor
