I hear you, I wouldn't predict we do, but it is possible.

He's much better passer and would utilize the pocket more effectively.
+ a quicker release instead of JJs "around the world" throwing motion.

We averaged 30.9 ppg last year and Lee took majority of snaps.

You can look it up if you don't beleive me. It's correct.

agreed...at this point, I think there is no "secret ingredient" that will turn us from an offense that is mediocre at best to a bcs caliber unit over the course of a week....I do however, believe that the raw talent as well as the coaching ability is present and ready to make steady gains for the rest of the season....

if we can make steady progress on offense and even modest progress on defense, we could be right in the thick of things by season end....

you guys are thinking too hard. This isnt a thread about schemes, mechanics, personnel.

Its not that hard to realize something doesn't work and try something different. Its fricking coaching....its not that fricking hard.

I don't know if its that; it seems like les just doesn't like playing musical quarterbacks. he'll bring in a change of pace guy only if its known that there's no chance that it will threaten the starter's job. I doubt we see lee unless JJ gets hurt. Unfair IMO since miles talked him into staying just so he could ride the pine while our offense sucks arse.

Actually, Lee showed to be the best qb through spring and fall practice.

Apparently Les went w/ Jefferson because of the bowl game. Only thing I can figure. But Lee definitely better through spring and fall.

I don't think it's been this. Rather I think we're haunted by the ghosts of '08. Miles did not want: a) a repeat of '08 (which I think explains a lot of the sluggishness) and b) a QB controversy.

That is, if during JJ's struggles, you insert JL and he has one of his hot streaks then he's got auto-distraction. They've wanted JJ to seize the position and keep it and let our offense get up to speed around him.

A better tack would be to have planned and played JL some every single game even in the heat of battle.

At this point, instead of a QB controversy we've got a full-blown "offense controversy."

you mean continuing to run the option with a qb who doesn't understand the purpose of the play at all is a bad idea?

um, were you at practice? lee threw 2 interceptions in one of our scrimmages in a time when he couldn't afford to

Well that's the best way to produce an offense that is better than 11 other teams in FBS.

Unfortunately he doesn't want to seize the position, he plays to not lose the job. He gives some nice leader quotes in the media, but his on the field play/demeanor doesn't back that up at all.
