Yo.... Danny Etling..... Do you know what the word slide means?

Is he really that dumb to not know when to slide against DB's or does he get caught up in the game and forgets? He seems like a normal dude who knows the role of the QB position. We've seen it now for about 4 games and he HAS NOT changed. Will the Florida game be the one where he LEARNS? Matt Flynn or Matt Mauck got smart because they got hammered by the defense a few times. Etling is going on at least 6 bad hits on him. He needs to tighten up and learn. /rant

Wow, so now the head coach is gone, the OC is gone. We have a QB who can go through his progressions and more than not find an open receiver, so now the rant has to bitch about our QB showing heart and not sliding on 1 or 2 plays.
Now I remember why I try to stay away from the rant.

I think he probably sees football as exactly what it is. It's football. He doesn't see himself as special like some qbs who absolutely hate getting hit.
He seems a bit too fragile to be taking hits like that. I love the balls it shows, and I'm sure a lot of the guys on the team really respect him, but he does need to slide more.

It just takes one bad hit before Harris is back in. He's already going to get hit a lot in the pocket, why take additional risk for 1/2 yard?

He doesn't slide or get down early enough ever, not just 1 or 2 plays. I love why he's doing it, but it has to stop. I'm not as down on Harris as most others, but I don't want to see him playing because Etling is out with a concussion or other injury.
