I think JR was only interested in one thing--cashing in. He's done that, so there is very little motivation left, IMO.
What do you base this on?
I'm just not sure, I dont know, maybe you've talked to him quite a few times or have attended a BUNCH of LSU or Oakland practices???
If not, I dont know how you can make that determination blindly.

Did you read it? His work ethic is apparently very questionable
Did YOU read the article???
His work ethic was questioned by a Yahoo blogger who decided to read into one statement from the head coach.
Then you, in turn, decided to read into this blogger's opinion, and there you have it, JR's work ethic is shite.
People will take ANYTHING they read as truth if it fits there agenda.

From the article:
Again, how much more successful was Flacco than Russell INDIVIDUALLY????
And don't give me the team thing, unless you think someone like Kerry Collins had a better season than Drew Brees last year.
quote:
Not to knock Russell, but the rookies who had tremendous success last season – Atlanta’s Matt Ryan and Baltimore’s Joe Flacco – weren’t dogged by qualifiers about responsibility

My opinion. His work ethic that has been questioned by others. And the technicolor dreamcoat he wore at the Sugar Bowl.

I wish people would quit putting Flacco in the category of super successful. His QB rating was only 3 points better than Jamarcus. 14 tds and 12 ints is not a great year. It is average at best. Flacco won behind one of the best defenses in the league.

I see this as an accurate description for all of them.
JR has been weak (not surprising)
Addai needs to stay healthy
Davis has lived up to his nickname. He's been a bust!
Truth hurts.

I said SO FAR he has underachieved. What's so hard to comprehend about that?
no. thats not ALL you said you freaking retard.

the biggest underachiever so far in the last decade in the NFL compared to the hype he got.
dont try to soften the rediculous statement you made.
you have absolutely no knowledge of football and you clearly showed that.

I can argue that Buster is entering his 3rd year, which is suppose to be the year WR's breakout.
JR has played 1 season, in Oakland. It can be argued that is slowing his progress.

JR plays on one of the all time worst teams in football.
From a fantasy football perspective I would not think of using any players from Oakland. And not because of Jamarcus. The wide receiver position has been full of wasted potential in Oakland for years.
McFadden may become a stud running back, but the whole committee scenario they have used almost as long as I can remember has not allowed an Oakland back to fully develop in years.
The average QB doesn't even start for several years. Only the ones that get paid super bucks with high picks, get tossed into the fire immediately. And most of them fail, whereas the lower paid longer developed QBs make it more often.

Hell, Brady Quinn got just about as much hype as Russell, but JR has achieved more than Quinn to this point
If you were starting a team right now would you rather have Quinn at 3M a year or JR at 70 million?
I agree on Flacco, played in a very conservative system designed to help him. Matt Ryan is a whole different story. Best job Ive ever seen a rookie QB do going to a poor team.
Is JR as dumb as people say or in interviews? Im not saying he his but alot of people say it. I like JR though and hope he has a good year.

I love how you compare Quinn's yearly salary with Jamarcus' full contract.
Quinn's contract was in excess of $30 million.

3 LSU Players on this list: JR, Addai, Buster Davis
They must also hate 'SC, Miami, Tn, OSU, UF and UT since they all had multiple players chosen. This really is an article involving multiple types of "pivotal" seasons. Many on the list have never achieved the type of success their teams hoped for(Russell, Buster, Vernon Davis etc) and most of that group probably just need a change in circumstances to succeed. Guys like Addai and Jones-Drew have tasted success and excelled in multiple seasons. Injuries slowing you down after attaining great seasons is a far cry from having no success. I would lump Bush in with Addai and Jones-Drew as well. Had he not been injured last year he was heading for a pro-bowl season as an all-purpose/return guy.

Who would you rather have if the money is the same?

Well, off the field, I never spoke to him or don't know anything to say either way.
On the field, he is proved that he is VERY intelligent, and probably was the smartest QB in all of collgege football in his final year at LSU.
