coaches are always talking about x and z receivers. there
is depth chart listed for both. aren't there plays designed
specifically for a slot receiver. it must be more then just the third
receiver out on the field.

It's March. Spring practice started 3 days ago. Baseball season is just now getting into SEC play. The basketball team is about to go to the tournament. WHY DO WE FEEL THE NEED TO DISCUSS THIS STUFF RIGHT NOW??????????

The X reciever is normally the taller guy. He will be on the backside of 3x1 ect. The Z is a guy that can be moved around, in the slot or on the outside. Y is a bigger phyical guy (TE) that is a slot, H is the true slot that can move all around

Jezzzus H Christ, chill the frick out! We just started spring football practice, there's nothing wrong with askng this or any other football questions.

I also saw you pitching the same fit in the thread about our LBs staying on the field more to cover.

Spring practice just started, with a new DC. People are going to be interested in football...big fricking deal!

There isn't a DAMN thing wrong with asking football questions now or at any other time of the damn year.

Sit down and STFU!

depending on the system in place. Some coaches like to say that the wideout on the left is the "x", tight end is the "y" and the far right is the "z" in accordance to their base formation.

some coaches assign numbers, but all are looked at by their size and speed and changed regularly depending on the matchups.
