I think the Tigers will be up for it but it will be a better game then people think.

Then that QB best be ready to make some quick-arse reads.

it's all about pressure with a 4 man line. They won't be able to block them all day like that. Not with our depth and talent up front. It may work early on but late 3rd and 4th, they'll get abused.

This is original. Not like there is a thread on the first page with the almost same title.

The one potential positive with all that passing is the possibility for a few interceptions. I will keep my fingers crossed.

That was my thought as well. Hope we're right!

I (and many others) have been sayign this all week. They will use a controlled passing game with short drops and qiuick releases to negate the pash rush, just like Oregon did (0 LSU sacks). The Ducks moved the ball on LSU that way. The key will be quick pursuit to the receiver and sure tackling in space.

That's what I've been saying.

Geno Smith will probably need to get rid of the ball about a second and a half.......

I'm thinking his percentage will be pretty low this weekend.

You beat the quick drop passing game by playing press coverage at the line of scrimmage. Jamming guys off the line makes the quarterback hesitate or flushes him, both of those factors play into LSU's favor with the speed of our defensive ends and linebackers. A lot of people will say that if you play press coverage you risk getting beat deep. I think this also plays into LSU's favor for 2 reasons, it's going to make Smith hold the ball for that much longer, and because of the ability of our corners and safeties on the deep ball.

I too think the game will be close, but I think we come out on top. Honestly, I'm more concerned about us putting up points that WV.

There is a 60% chance of rain on Saturday night.

If they want to throw the ball 50 times, be our guest.

IS the conventional wisdom that rain favors the WR who knows his route, rather than the DB trying to react?

Also, rain makes one on one tackling more difficult.

I agree with all of what you stated here.

I think LSU will match up better to 4-5 wide than anyone in the country. Mathieu, Brooks, Claiborne, Simon, Reid - who is better? I think we win BIG!

BS. High winds means innaccurate passes.

Wet balls = dropped passes.

And kills QB accuracy and catching

In rain, would you rather have the running team or the passing team?

If you plan on jamming 5 Wide Outs that would leave 2 people to cover the rest of the field. I like our chances.
