yEAh I agree with Mark Stoops being good, the rest are pitiful coaches in my opinion.

did he coach the game against Alabama last year? If so, he isn't that bad with good personnel.

Was supposed to be the strength of this OU team, and the defense was awful. Hell, Texas put up 26 points on them.

So to summarize this thread:

1. Chavis threw the game vs ND because he was leaving but Stoops wasn't thinking he was leaving as well when preparing for Clemson...
2. Stoops hasn't been successful since 2003 (I guess reviving Arizona into a perennial bowl team and getting them one game away from the Rose Bowl with B talent isn't success)
3. Stoops helped lead a healthy OU team to a win vs. Alabama last year but let's just ignore that.

LSU had offered former DC John Chavis $1.3 million per year to stay. But Aggie coach Kevin Sumlin bumped Chavis to the range he wanted: the $1.7 mill range that Auburn gave new DC Will Mushchamp. Stoops would apparently make around $1-$1.1 million per, which would be an upgrade from this current he $856,400/year. But I'm told money would not be the driving force for Stoops to leave Oklahoma.

ALLEVA'S finger prints all over this

The guy is a bean counter and has hurt the LSU brand IMO

The led the conference in 2013, and then took a big step back this year. This was with most of the same players.

Are some of you actually believing that an OU beat writer would know that Les plans to make an offer before an interview takes place? Really?

This story was fed to him from Stoops.

Just speculation, but Dallas would be a natural place to conduct interviews maybe Stoops but maybe others including Clancy. The college National Championship will be played there a week from Monday.

This. And NOBODY from LSUs side has said anything about Stoops even being considered...
