Loston was experienced, but he was a weak link on defense. He took bad angles, struggled in coverage, and (like it's been stated) was purely a headhunter when it came to tackling. There were times he missed chances at easy picks because he was head-down and trying to blow up the WR.

He did get a pick off Manziel in the endzone, though, didn't he? For that matter, didn't Sunseri get a pick 6 off Manziel?

This surprised me too. Loston wasn't the best, but certainly a solid player.

These are great kids and welcome back anytime to LSU. Hell I owe them a beer. Just accept their performance on tape and to nfl scouts/coaches/gm' sis not good enough right now. They still have a chance to get to work and prove everyone wrong. They just haven't proven enough yet.

I think Loston would kill in a tampa2 like the cowboys where he is asked to trail receivers instead of man coverage.

I'm not looking thought my purple and gold glasses on loston, he was better then plenty of people that were drafted.

Both Anthony Johnson and loston will get with a team soon and I thank them for being tigers and to help our team win.

He never learned to wrap up and always lead with his head. He will have a career ending injury before the end of training camp with his poor tackling technique.

he just was not very good. it's ok to admit that. 5 star bust, but it happens.

Loston may have not lived up to his 5 star billing but he was not a bust as a player.

He's not a sure tackler at all. He goes for the big hit every time. The furthest thing from a form tackler or sure tackler but worthy of getting drafted imo

where did scouts have him ranked for safeties?

he's a head hunter and that won't fly in the new NFL

Meh....the Cardinals spent their first round pick on a bigger headhunter than Loston.

ETA: I just saw we also signed Loston! We gonna be HITTIN!!!!

Good players go undrafted every year

Exactly. Also, there's a point in the draft where its beneficial for the player not to get drafted. Not unheard of to make it to the NFL via undrafted free agency.

These guys can shop themselves around and focus on finding the best fit for their talents.

I can't believe people are throwing around the term "head hunter" like it's an insult. I wish Loston hits could still be a part of today's game..

The guy was near pathological in avoiding using his arms to tackle. I'm convinced you could amputate his arms and not appreciably reduce the tackling skill he demonstrated.

And, he was late so often when he was supposed to have the over to help the CBs it got so I didn't even expect him to be there.

He had the tools to be better, but just didn't seem to be able to put that into practice.

A safety who fails to help CBs routinely AND is prone to routinely miss tackles is not going to be terribly coveted in the NFL.

I always felt Loston could be a successful OLB in a 3-4.

It would take all the steroids in America to make Loston an NFL LB.

Lost on can be a special teams demon if he wants. He is better than mccray and he has been on a roster for a few years.

It's like some of you never watched our Dline during the games. Freak got F'n stoned at the line almost every play. Oh and no he did not get double teamed every play. He barely got double teamed! Un freaking believable that some of you defend him with that garbage! He was a bust!! Stop making excuses! Most likely an UDFA without his failed drug test and his play backs that assumption up
