C. they split time.
If this means that no one transfers, than this. I believe Harris is the future, but either way, we're going to need both of them for at least the next two years.
LSU is recruiting some absolute stud QB for the next few years, but i'm not fond of the backup being a freshman.

quote:Nope. You're assuming. I'm simply asking for discussing based on our circumstances at qb. I am not unhappy with les as a coach. We are very fortunate to have him. Again, you're assuming and acting like a prideful clown.
Because you're clearly trying to gin up a QB controversy...and as we all know, those are AWESOME. why, on the day Fall Camp starts, do you feel the need to PREEMPTIVELY look for something to potentially complain about is Les happens to decide Jennings is the guy? You're not honestly asking the question...you're looking for validation of your own opinion, which is anything other than Harris is a mistake.
It is a qb competition. Basing a discussion on the circumstances of our team is a lot different than trying to brew a controversy. Would I like to see Harris play if he has more potential? yes. Because common sense tells me that is better in the long run. If they both give us about the same chance to win this year, then I play harris due to the experience he will gain and having another year of eligibility to lead this team to a title.

Keep it up, not sure why people are getting butt hurt about you starting this thread. Seems like a legit discussion. Don't click if you don't want to read it. Pretty simple.

And guess what? Who gives a shite?
I realize this is universal among sports fans, but as an LSU fan first I'll describe it first as an LSU problem...but when will fans realize picking sides like this on an open forum does NOTHING to help the situation they profess to care about? Assuming you're an LSU fan, in what way does openly discussing who ought to be playing help the situation, knowing players can and do read this forum or have what's said run back to them?
As much as I'd like to see Nick Saban punched in the dick today, when he was at LSU the one TRULY fantastic thing he did was keep both fans and media in line with this ind of thing. Remember 2004? It was either one of the BR TV stations or the Advocate that felt the need to run a poll on who should start...JaMarcus or Randall. Saban went off for like 5 minutes about what a shitty thing it was to do that to both players...and they yanked the poll AND fans understood that while incredibly micormanaging of him it made sense.
Do I have an opinion about who I'd like to see start this year? Yeah...so? In the end, I pull for the name of the SIDE of the helmet more than I do for the name on the BACK of the jersey, so given Miles and Cameron are there every day working with these guys I'm going to do the unusual thing for an LSU fan and allow the god damn coaches to make this call without my input. Because I know from experience that, sooner rather than later, LSU fans will be at each other's throats about this issue...and none of it will be helping LSU win games.
Your mileage may vary.

our country is not going in the tank. BUT, civility, mutual respect and general politeness is disappearing. everything is about me. and it's our generations fault for spoiling and sheltering our kids. we fricked 'em up.

LONG
lot of speculation that he hits his ceiling considering he'll play with barely any experienced pass catchers this year, and, it being his first year starting. You guys need to check out Bridgewater's steady improvement an production uptick in three years at Louisville
I could actually see this happen and it's not based on stupid speculation that a guy has maxed out his potential after one starting year.
IMO, if Jennings gets the start, plays good to really good throughout the year (2200-2400 yards 16-18 TDs 6-8 ints 200-300 rush yards 3-5 TDs), there is no freaking way Harris starts over him for the rest of his time here unless injury, or horrible play in consecutive games occur. Harris still gets a year to play here.
If Harris gets the start and plays decent, then Jennings would be stupid to stay because barring injury or consecutive terrible games, he wouldn't get to start again here because of the year gap.
If my Harris scenario happens, I see Jennings either leaving in 2015 so he can play two years or waiting and graduating in 2016 and having a chance to play immediately but only one year. If he leaves in 2015, he'll sit out a year, graduates in 2016, he'll go play immediately somewhere. He's a very good prospect and teams would be dying to have him 3 years into an NFL ran system.
Another option for Harris in my Jennings scenario (if he wins and keeps it) Is to redshirt in 2016 and let McMillan play backup to Jennings. That would give Harris 2017 and 2018 to play. That's more of a miracle if it happens that way.
In conclusion, I really thought (right after the season) Jennings would take control this year and Harris would sit behind at least Rettig because he was raw. That would give Jennings 3 years and Harris two. IMO now, if whoever starts and plays good and keeps the job, the other would either start here for only one year, or never start here, barring something drastic.

A. We go 9-3 w jennings. We stick w him all year. It looks like he's pretty much reached his ceiling at some point in the year though. Harris has the better potential but les sticks w Jennings next year as well due to experience.

B. We go 9-3 w harris. He gets valuable experience for next year. Jennings transfers in the off season leaving one scholarship qb. The player with more potential (les said it) is the starter w a full year of experience in 2015

I think they'll split time.
I'd love to see Harris storm out and throw for 3500 yards and 47 TDs- but let's come back down to earth, for a minute.
Both of our guys are capable and- I believe- will help us win some games.
Why not just sit back and enjoy the competition? May as well, because enjoy it or not- all any of us are gonna do is sit back.
