wants to control the game with his offensive line. ball control and score. keeps the defense fresh and dominating if you've got the players. but he also loves the big play!

i am not criticizing him. he is not a les miles old school guy. in other words, pass is not a four letter word in his vocabulary. he does want his qb to be an effective passer, he wants to utilize his talent at wr, and he likes his TE's to catch passes, which i very much appreciate. STill, from watching him, especially at ND, this is what he would like to do. demoralize you by controlling the o line of scrimmage with running and passing, burning the clock while scoring points. i'm all for it, and this is how it appears to me.

football games are won in the trenches. all coaches want to win at the line of scrimmage.

The line of scrimmage always has been still is and will continue to be how you win football games.

It doesn’t matter what kind of offense and defense you run if you can’t win at the line of scrimmage it won’t work.

I think he puts a premium on balance and the OL, but I think that’s making a comeback.

Our tempo is too fast to say he just wants to control the ball dominate possession.

Ask Kirby and Nick who they want to control the game with
Ask about any football coach on earth who they want to control how their offense moves

I'm really excited about how he is building the offensive line. Campbell, Jones, Heard and Chester are all athletic monsters. He's getting guys who need a little time to develop for depth. He's used the portal to fill gaps. I have zero issue with what he's doing with the offensive line.

A great coach adjusts his scheme to his talent. But I don’t think he cares if he has to pass every down to win.

And Kelly has an exceptionally well-documented history of doing this. He's never been one to try & fit a square peg into a round hole.
