Thanks for the info. That's the info I was looking for. When you have been away from LA for 20+ years, you have no idea what the programs are like. I played in the Biddy and NORD programs in NOLA many moons ago.

Our biggest new recruiting hotbed with a relatively good AAU system is Atlanta. We have a ton of guys on our radar from the Atlanta area. We have an assistant coach who is known as an AAU Coaching legend in that area and knows his way around there.

We've also tried to go into Tennessee and nab some guys from there. Those are the two biggest areas that stand out to me, but there's always a random guy from here or there that LSU coaches get some film on and so they go check it out.

Then go the frick away and don't try and talk about basketball. Pretty simple.

Then give me some info on the team! Would be a lot more helpful than your sophomoric rants.
I care about LSU. Will always be proud of all our programs. It's hard to live in the state where UF has built a basketball powerhouse. I just want LSU to get back in the game.

Go take your Midol. Pretty simple.

Thanks SOS. Very informative.
I know JJ is still getting in the game. I like JJ and I think he was a good hire. Just hurts to see them struggle with "the easy stuff." (fundamentals)
Back to work. I'm out ....

LSU just simply looks disorganized to me. Only time will tell if we get our shite together.

So you coached AAU, but don't care about basketball at all? And you couldn't care less, but it bothers you that Florida has a good program?

And you don't know anything about the current state of the program because you don't live in Louisiana anymore, but usisng the internet to go on a message board to complain is within the scope of your ability?

We live in the internet age, where you have ready access to information on the most inane shite conceivable, but you can't take the time to educate yourself?

I coached my kids through when they were younger, 7 years ago. My daughter was on Dee Brown's team here for a while. My son did not play as much. I don't care about basketball because of the way it has changed both on and off the court. IMO, one of the most corrupt sports today. I watch more of the Premier League than US basketball. I turn down free Magic tickets often. My wife's employer is a sponsor.

Not complaining. I just asked a question that only 2 posters have bothered to answer.

Since you are the expert, what blogs/columns should I look into? Yours? I do read some of the sports writers columns. I don't have the inside scoop (unlike all the rantards on the board) but was just asking an honest question about recruiting philosophies.

We have alot of talent offensively. However we are awful on the defensive end. You cannot consistently win if you are giving up 80 points every game. I put the defensive blame on the coaching staff. They have to improve in that regard. However he needs to grow as a basketball coach as much as the players need to improve as players. Maybe bringing in a very good defensive mind as an assistant would help.
LSU is no place for On The Job Training. IF JJ or anybody on the staff can't coach defense, they don't deserve to be here. We don't need a coach that "Has to Improve" his coaching skills. Those coaching skills should already be in place by the time you're hired to be the head man at a high profile place like LSU.

I'm not going to bash you because I think I understand what you're getting at. Unfortunately I think LSU goes after the best players possible and much of the time these guys are from Louisiana. I don't think anyone would argue that the basketball being played north of the mason Dixon is more quality than the basketball in the south (as far as traditional and fundamental).

However, again, we get what we can.

Careful I got bashed yesterday making similar statements and pointing out that JJ didn't exactly "earn" his way from UNT to LSU. There was alot of pressure put on this administration to hire Johnny Jones...ALOT.
