Would a little shakeout in the fan-base necessarily be a bad thing?

Totally apart from coaching (where I think the vast majority recognize that a change may be in order) and administration (same situation I think), is a shakeout of the existing fan-base maybe something that should happen?

Seems to me that the times when the team has done well bring out a ton of bandwagon fans. Some stick and become die-hards but a lot seem to lack the stomach for a team composed of imperfect human beings (coaches & players) playing in such a rough and tumble conference.

No one wants to see the team struggle (well maybe a few kooks here and there do) but they are struggling pretty heavily right now. So I think it is maybe natural and not all bad that some of the less stout support might evaporate away.

Ridiculous thread title and post. If there would have been TD.com in the 90's and before, you'd see the same stuff. It's the Rant, and posters are ranting. Fan base is one of the best in the country.

Absolutely. If Les can't turn it around or can't make the changes necessary to his coaching staff, then he needs to go; that way the fans of Les Miles will haul arse and no one will have to hear their whining will someone critizes him.

I think if LSU had at least kept it competitive then losing to Alabama and Arkansas wouldn't have been a problem. The problem with die hards and fairweathers alike is that we got stomped, and we didn't fight back. We didn't adapt. We had no urgency. They can say whatever they want about people leaving early but nobody wants to watch their team get their asses kicked, especially by a team that lost to Toledo. They got their asses kicked last year against MSU, Auburn, and Arkansas. I understand losing games, but at no point should we be getting our asses kicked like this. Its not an x's and o's thing when your players don't even seem like they want to be out there. That is coaching. I don't understand how you are still in the hunt for the playoffs and then come out and play like they don't give a sh*t. Its very disheartening.

Definitely. It works both ways. Anyone who would either watch or find it too hard to watch because of who the coach is or is not, would not seem to be a die hard fan of LSU itself.

If they can't bring themselves to watch and support the program anymore, sure.

This doesn't make any sense. Those fans that will get shaken out will be the same ones jumping back on the bandwagon next season if we start 4-0 or whatever. One big win and they will be right back. You can't keep them away.

Probably won't be the same ones. Might be some new bandwagoners though.

What needs to be understood is,there is a large portion of the fan base that has never really accepted Miles and never will.
