I was reading the following article from NOLA.com, and they talk about the 2 local boys being fully commited to LSU:

NOLA.com

Mays to Sims! Both will directly fill the gaps Simmons and Blakenly will leave after 2015. The future of LSU basketball is very, very bright.

Man, I don't really think that's a very fair comparison. Love both commits, but you can't say they are even on the same level as freshman. Mays and Sims can both be 4 year players and have great careers at LSU though.

Also not gonna even mention losing a couple seniors. We should get a solid recruiting class of 4 to 5 this coming year, and while I don't expect a poor 2016/2017 season, I'd expect it to be a little below 2015/2016.

Whoaaaaa. Pump the brakes just a bit. It's nice to have the two BR guys committed, but to expect them to come in a seamlessly replace two McDonald's all Americans and the presumptive #1 pick in the NBA draft is crazy. I don't care about '16-'17 right now. This season is Jones' "put up or shut up" year. He may not ever have a more talented collection of players on one team.

lets also not assume Blakeney will go pro. I mean, he has the talent to be a lotto pick, but lets let the thing play out 1st.

Having said that, I want him to play at a level that will make him a lotto pick, cuase then we will be lights out this year. anyway............lets wait and see

Blakeney will leave when Simmons leaves. So you know what that means.

This statement is false. The E1T1 group really wants Blakeney to stay a 2nd year. Maybe a 3rd to make sure he's 100% ready to be a pro. This is the group he ultimately listened to after the Louisville de-commitment stuff.

That is his AAU team, Each 1 Teach 1. Assuming that is his basketball mentor type coaching staff.

he was recruited here by Simmons for super 1-and-done year. No, no one has or will say this for certain, but it is all but definate. That said, anything can happen. The only thing that I mean by that is one of them could get hurt.

All of the responses above lead to the answer of the original question. We've got to see how guys like Epps, Blakeney, Patterson and Sampson develop and then in turn how many of those guys are back next year. It's doubtful that our recruiting class this year will match last year's, but it doesn't have to.

Doesn't matter what E1T1 wants blakeney is going to do what he wants. Ben and tone told Malik they wanted him to come in with them and after one year they all leave together. He's already getting draft hype, unless he does terrible this year he's gone.

Welcome to one and done recruiting

Edit for clarification

This is not totally true....

Malik went to MSU because they paid the most true story.

But you are right he is getting draft recognition. He is not a guranteed Top 20 pick right now. So I could see him staying one more year to be "the" man, and boosting his draft stock. But also starting his 4 year clock is always there. Yes, I know, I know, he could get hurt. But that should never be your first thought and it wont be. He is a smart guy that I have met and he really enjoys LSU.

Look, if Tone has the type of year that makes him a lotto pick in this draft... then we'll all be okay with him leaving. That being said, Each 1 Teach 1 is a great organization that the kids in listen to and when their director talks about wanting him in college 2 years at least, he'll listen and it'll weigh heavily.

I understand but unless LSU is giving him money if he thinks he is a first round pick he will be gone for sure. Money is all that matters, you see guys leave too early all the time, it's not going to change anytime soon.
