Lately and this coming year, LSU will be better in the coming years. Gotta give our new coaches time to develop the young players and future recruits. We will be top 10 every year in the near future.

I agree I think we had a slim chance to beat bama/win it all but this team is real young as compared to bama and other contenders but that is a plus because we're building quality depth and experience you can't expect the exodus of juniors and being out recruited by bama to not show on the field we can't always assume our lower ranked players or better and tho bh is improving this isn't the year he torches defenses but I think next year the offense rivals 2013 and the defense will be maybe not as good as 2011 but mAybe as good as 2012

In a word - "attrition"

Weren't we picked like 3rd or 4th in our Division pre-season? While the media continues with the SEC is down this year they never hint at the fact LSU, FLA, UK, are overachieving this year.

We are built for next year. Next year almost came early for us this year. Still ain't over!

No, it's something every year. Next year we will be rebuilding at LB and the OL and some people will be saying that next year is the year.

It's just an excuse. Every college team is affected by graduation/attrition/injuries. Young guys have to play.

The constant whining about youth/inexperience gets old.

It's football, not brain surgery.

LSU attrition has been above the norm. That and an unresolved QB issue. Harris's maturity will change a lot.

Funny how with Saban and the gumps,

EVERY year is "next year."

That's what people said in 2011

Then next thing you know the secondary doesn't look as great without Taylor, Mathieu, Brooks, Claiborne. And the loss of Brockers was also big.

2016 is it. If we can't win then, we won't ever. Harris, fournette, Dupre, etc. need to recruit all of the jr's on the team as well and finish this year as number one. Stock up on lb and dline.

Yep - Sounds familiar. "We're young", "Wait til next year", "The coaches need time to develop them". There's enough "duhhs" on both sides of the isle.

By too many players declaring for the draft early. We are going to be young every year for the foreseeable future.

Because we continue to lose key players, at critical positions, to the draft. If by some miracle we keep White, Beckwith, and Hawkins this year, we wouldn't be in a position where we have to start freshmen next year. Think about the incoming LB class WITH Beckwith coming back? Think about our OL with Hawkins back. I'm not so sure that Hawkins stays at LT if we could pull Little into this class. He looks that good. Our OL either underperformed or they need to get better. Little would instantly make them better whether he plays left or right. TW coming back as the leader of our D backfield next year would be huge.

Will any of that happen...probably not. But it's the difference between the "this year" and "next year" bullshite. The one thing that has to happen is that Harris has got to continue to develop and become a ~60-70% passer every fricking game. He's also got to play his best against a team like Bama. I like the kid but go back and look at the 2 plays when we were called on time. If his instinct is to take a fricking sack with a "deer in the headlights" look on his face, THIS year may never come with him under center. I like BH and I see lots of potential but anyone who says they were 100% sure that he would handle the pressure is delusional. We hoped he would.

They've been stockpiling 4-5 stars for 5 years now.
