Now Ole Piss would GLADLY hang a banner proclaiming any championship that they can get their hands on, but that is Ole Piss- at LSU, the championships that we get are won ON THE FIELD or in the competition in this case.
I do not get this statement? Ole Miss in 03 tied for the West, they have just as much right to hang the Western Division Champ as LSU does.

I think that you are correct. According to the Seattle Times: "One distinction: These would not be forfeits, meaning opponents would not be credited for victories over Florida State." In other words Bobby Bowden will apparently drop below Joe Paterno in the win column because of this, but he will not gain any additional losses either--it will be as if the game was never played and won't count in the standings. I'm guessing that the NCAA track meets will be counted like this as well.

Seriously, they won the West by the rules that were in play, so by your definition earlier of FSU giving up the NC's why should Ole Miss give up the West in 03? So if it benefits LSU its good and if it goes against LSU its BS?

I want to beat them on the field of competition- THAT is a championship

I say schedule a home/away with FSU and then honor those track national champions during the LSU/FSU game in Tiger Stadium.

F A I L ! ! ! LSU finished second to Florida State.
Bottom line is LSU won't be "given" the national championship in this situation, so this whole entire argument is a complete waste of time. There will be no champion for the years in question due to Florida State's f-up.

Where did the ineligible players play? On the field.
LSU did not finish second to Florida State. Florida State would have had to finish first for that to happen. In reality, Florida State finished last. You can't finish second to (below) last.
Congratulations to LSU for all its national championships in T&F!

Dude, did you not understand what I just said- this whole argument is a waste of YOUR time. It doesn't matter, LSU won't be "handed" any national championship due to inelgible FSU athletes, so STFU

Have fun claiming phantom national championships that LSU did not win and won't be awarded
Oh, and congrats to all of the LSU national champions in ALL sports who won their championship ON THE FIELD rather than in the mind of xiv

If they played on the field, cheated on the field, were on the field when not eligible, didn't they, therefore, lose on the field?
LSU won the national championship on the field. The championship will be vacated in the NCAA's office.
Have fun claiming phantom second place finishes that LSU did not win!

IMO FSU didnt cheat. Cheating is steroids, crossing out of your lane etc...

but who the hell wants a national championship that gets handed to you because of something that happened OFF THE FIELD???

O.K. I started this mess I guess I'll end it. In 2004 Arkansas had to forfeit their track title. Florida is recognized as the "unofficial" champion from that year. An unofficial track championship just doesn't sound as good as a football MNC. So let's move-on to beating Auburn and Illinois today!

Track and Field Championship is NOT a MNC. It is a REAL NC and should be proudly displayed.
