Corey clement missed most of last season but still looks like a beast at RB. I imagine Aranda knows very well he is the key to shutting down the Wisconsin offense because Houston isn't a guy who is going to beat you with his arm.

Hornibrook, redshirt freshman, in at QB now.

Big guy, 6'4 about 225-230ish. Lefty.

You're better off watching a Tuesday practice than a Wisconsin Spring Game.

How many starters does Wisconsin have returning?

Six on offense, seven on defense.

Wisconsin develops its players over the course of four- to five-years, so losing several starters year-to-year is not atypical.

Anyway, you will never gather too much from a Wisconsin Spring Game. The Badgers don't do a whole lot of hitting and, at least in past years, sit guys altogether. It's a glorified two-quarter practice.

It's honestly tough to say, like i said a lot of it was 2 hand touch.

They still are running a 3-4 defense though. They had 2 freshman starting ILBs last year so they will be much better there this year with those guys having a ton of experience as upcoming sophomores.

Where they will struggle is up front, Wisconsin doesnt really get the NFL Dlinemen where we do. Our OL should control the LOS making it pretty easy for Fournette and Harris. You know Fournette will deliver but to me waht makes this game either a blowout or close is how Harris performs. If we throw for 200+ yards and efficiently I see us running away with it. If Harris has a 80 yard type game with a turnover or two it could go down to 4th quarter.

Understatement.

I think the football world saw how good of a program UW CAN be when they have a good QB under center, when we had Wilson. We're a perpetual running program, but damn, just once I'd love a top 20-30 QB recruit. It's been a disaster this spring at the position. I believe that in one practice Hornibrook had 5 (yes, five) INTs. I'm just hoping it means our defense is all world

(Full disclaimer: Houston coming out of high school was highly regarded, but that obviously never materialized)

Clement lost his head last year, sounds like he's recommitted, and we've got a solid group up front returning.

For historical reasons. In the 2002 spring game, Lee Evans, who later played for Buffalo and made all-pro, badly tore up his knee. Missed the entire 2002 season. He had decided not to go pro after his highly successful junior year in 2001 and almost lost his career on what normally would have been a routine tackle.

It was lucky he recovered well and had a nice pro career, but the lesson was learned. Proven players do not get in a lot of hitting in spring ball or fall camp.

This makes sense when you don't have three five star recruits in the depth chart behind a star player.

Yes he is. But let's remember he would be fighting to be second string at LSU. Their defense looks a step slow compared to LSU and 'Bama.

I agree this year CC is second string on a team with LF.

I also know LF was not looking as good as Melvin Gordon when we last met. So sometimes we do have better stars.

But it appears your team has the stars ready to shine this season. Including our stud DC.

Wisconsin will need to mix an old fashioned OL mashing type of game straight at Arandas D and use our very good linebackers to reasonably contain LF to make this one close. I think both teams will be especially jacked for this one. LSU has a special season on the line and UW has state pride on the line.

It's a treat for me to see an SEC power come up to the home state. Can't wait
