2003-West Virginia (W 24-17, WVU finished 8-5)
2004-Central Florida (W 34-6, UCF finished 0-11)
2005-Bowling Green (W 56-42, BG finished 6-5)
2006-Bowling Green (W 35-14, BG finished 4-8)
2007-Washington State (W 42-21, WSU finished 5-7)
2008-Akron (W 38-17, Akron finished 5-7)
2009-Northern Illinois (W 28-20, NIU finished 7-5)
2010-UNLV (W 41-21, UNLV finished 2-10)
2011-UNLV (W 51-17, UNLV finished 2-10)
2012-Northern Iowa (W 26-21, NIU finished 5-6)
2013-UMass (W 45-0, UMass finished 1-11)

looks like they are allowing some decent point totals to some very mediocre teams.

None of those games have any impact on their preparation for this game. If LSU was 70-0 in their last 70 openers, against cupcakes or powerhouses, it means shite for Saturday night m

My point is that it's difficult to prepare for a season opener against a ranked opponent at a neutral site on the national stage if you've never done it. We did it last season. Do you really think our returning players didn't gain anything positive from that experience?

I see your point bro, these idiots have to argue about anything to make them feel relevant and make you feel irrelevant. You are correct it will be a new experience for them and not LSU advantage LSU. Plus we are just much better then them in almost all facets of the game. OL push, RBs push and that's it. LSU wins by double digits.

Well coaching experiences also matter, for one.

God forbid someone start a positive thread on the tiger rant!

Not relevant. What is relevant is the humidity and heat in Houston. There is no way to replicate that environment in two days of practice in Texas.

No they definitely are not ready, personally I think the Badgers are way over rated , they kind of remind me of an over rated Boise State from years past, nothing but media making them sound like something good.

agreed. there is only 1 assistant left on Wisconsin's staff from any of those openers before UMASS last year and he was only there the year prior.

2003? Seriously? the current players were 8 or 10 years old.

using that logic, Kentucky fans could still be thrilled they beat LSU in the National Championship year.

How the f did that happen, anyway?

Road game against a team that was ranked in the top 15. Their All-SEC QB Andre Woodson played lights out. Miles also benched our RB Scott at halftime for seemingly no reason after he ran all over them in the first half. Hard fought 3 OT game, upsets happen.

I don't remember that game…I do remember that Arkansas game from that year..with Mcfadden and Felix Jones…wild game.

I was just cherry-picking a game out that has no relevance to Saturday's game, since one dude in this thread referenced the Wisconsin in Colorado game in 1995 and the originator of the thread is going back to openers in 2003.

LOL.

Although you can help us out by highlighting any reasonable OOC win you have had in the past 4 years maybe? I am assuming the top of that mountain is a spectacular 1 point win over ASU in 2010? Or is it not losing badly to every decent OOC team you have played recently?

no excuse for that.

on second thought, you're right Melvin Gordon is terrible.

Maybe I'll buy his Arena League jersey next season to show my support for such a sorry running back

For your lack of quality wins? I agree

I suspect you are posting this in the wrong thread since that is not the topic here. I understand how this can get complicated for you.

And yes, by saying about 5 times that Melvin Gordon is 'very good', what I meant was terrible.

I hate losing debates too and sometimes have to sink to stuff like this. Granted I tend to do it in the right thread and luckily tonight is not a night I need to.

Thanks for the entertainment and enjoy that killer Big 10 West schedule you have this year... murderers row if I have ever seen one. Atleast you guys are consistent with that.

yes, lack of quality wins. like Ric Flair says "To be the man, you gotta beat the man"

Big Ten West is weak, I actually agree. However, you didn't exactly manhandle the 3rd best team in the division (and 5th best team in our crappy league overall) one we beat 28-9 in their stadium.
