That is a new offense...lol.

That is very good news for us
Possibly. We will find out just how different the offense will be during the game. I don't expect 30 straight uns with two TE's and a FB.

There is nothing new about UW installing bunch or spread formations. We have run those for over 10 years. There have been rumblings that Anderson wants to add more read option out of it, which would be a change, but he is not going to force it if Stave wins the QB comp. The offense will still be based around Gordon and Clement coming downhill with guys motioning around the end showing the jet sweep.
We passed for only about 300 yards less than LSU did last year despite having a much worse receiving corps. It is not like UW has never seen a pass before in our lives. Perhaps you have heard of Russell Wilson or Scott Tolzein, two former Badger QBs who started NFL games last year? One of them is pretty, pretty, pretty good.

CORRECTION; AFTER INITIAL REPORTS SUGGESTED THAT WISCONSIN IS INSTALLING SPEED ROUTES, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT SPEED ROUTES REQUIRE "SPEED".

What happened to the highly effective, much feared Wisconsin rushing attack the sports media brags about every year adnauseam?

Michigan did a similar thing when Rodriguez got their, how has that panned out?
Once a power school, always a power school. Hard to change a multi decade reputation. I will always think of Wisconsin and Michigan as Big, slow, mainly power teams.

Not like we haven't seen that before.

He's avg. Just pretty pretty clutch. without that MONSTER D, he wouldnt be anything special. I do applaud his clutchness. He doesnt wow you statistically, but he has the Brady factor in him. If you give him the chance to steal one from you, watch out!

But did you play against quality teams?
The tear licking is going to taste so good!!

Wisconsin's been running 4 WR packages, wildcat, bunched groups, for years. Paul Chryst, the OC for Beilema (now the HC at Pitt) was very innovative and creative. Russel Wilson would not have played for Wisconsin if he was just going to hand the ball off 40 times a game.
And the Badger run game isn't just play-action. There's jet sweeps with read-option mixed in, and the Badgers have used multiple tailbacks in various formations.
Wisconsin's problems hasn't been on offense at all. It's been giving up huge plays on defense, especially big plays late in the game.
Go back and watch the South Carolina game. Until our QB got his shoulder broken we were fine on offense. But when SC needed a big play, every goddam time, it was there; lack of speed and athleticism on defense, IMO, has been our Achilles heel.
But this idea that the Badger offense is from the 1950's and that you'll effortlessly hold us to 100 yards rushing or something like that is misguided.
I'm not worried about our offense. I'm worried about the interior and depth of our DL, the speed of our LB's, and who's gonna play safety.

At the end of the game LSU will be 3-0 against Wisconsin in head to head...just win baby...

Oh, please God I hope that they aren't installing a new offense with kickoff 2 weeks away. Nothing like a new offense predicated on speed being installed in a hurry using players recruited for a different style of football to put fear in the hearts.
Does Mr Wisconsin understand that our players and coaches have gameplanned against AU, Oregon, and A&M. Each with better offensive coaching and skill players.
Oh, there may be a quarter of confusion. But after Chief sees it for a quarter, he will destroy them.

quote:and what in the hell does that have to do with Aug 30th? And he only went to UW as some last ditch back up plan, not because of some high powered O. shite, I think he had more productivity at NC State.
One of them is pretty, pretty, pretty good.

I just hope we beat them so bad that badger alumni will be selling tickets for the rematch at Lambeau for a couple of cheese curds.

LSU will be heavy favorites in that game. All of these stud freshman for LSU will be juniors that season.
