He did not like where we was on the depth chart after spring. He needed another year of putting on weight and getting stronger before being ready for SEC play. He thought different. Good luck

Other than not having a true left tackle since La'el left - where is this coming from? We've put a lot of guys into the league and if anything Grimes has improved recruiting since Stud left.

Yep. ESPN has our OL ranked second in the SEC behind their default yearly Bama ranking. Pretty sure that's the highest we're allowed, at this time.

Ok, then hold Grimes accountable and get an Oline coach who can 1) coach, 2) recruit, 3) retain the players he recruits, 4) develop them like he is supposed too.

I was initially concerned about the transfers until I remembered we had a coaching change this year, and these kids were recruited by Miles, and even though O was on the staff they signed onto Miles as head coach. Do I think every kid that transfers from LSU is making a mistake? Yes I do, but each kid has to do what they think is best for them and I wish them well. GEAUX TIGERS!

I don't think I had ever seen a player take a bigger nose dive in the 247 rankings module than Allen after his Sr year. Other than Keion "catfish" Joiner. It was embarrassing having Allen in the UA Under Armour game. He got eaten alive in the drills. I really wonder how he was ever thought to be such a high prospect to begin with.

How so? We have guys transferring that were high school all-americans. O-Line recruiting has been great under Grimes.

Seems really bitter about not getting to go straight to TCU on his twitter.

I met a couple of nice guys who were on football team. After three days, they packed.

Wtf? Says i.

We are going to wisc-green bay so we can play. We are not going to sniff the field here.

It happens. Same week, the dude two doors down was a transfer in. Hoops. I had seen him pour fifty in for xavier on uk freshmen when uk had dampier, kron, conley and riley who were all pros later. Kron 2 guard all aba defense 1st team. Dampier pg led aba in scoring one season even though gervin on team. Riley rings.

Is this where we trash a kid because he is transferring, saying he is soft, not good, etc....

In Willie's defense they moved him to the right for that, a position he never played before.

That said, best of luck and next man up.

Yeah, what can you do? I imagine O blocked his transfer to TCU to leverage him into staying on the team. Sometimes, guys just aren't happy, and would rather leave then dig in and gut it out.

I've done that in plenty of situations when I was his age, so best of luck to the man.

Let's not tout that as something to brag about. Stud was awful. Grimes is not great either. The line is not where it should be and is definitely lagging behind the rest of the team with QB. In big games we all know the QB woes but it's always the line right alongside that getting their shite kicked in. It needs improvement. Our most dominant positions should be defensive and offensive line.

O may have blocked it because TCU was "recruiting" him while he was on the team. It is sadly happening a lot. These kids don't officially ask for a transfer, put out feelers, and then schools start sniffing around.

That may or may not be the case, but LSU is going to be an interesting case study for the college football world over the next 1-3 years. This 'O' experiment is either going to be a huge success (less probable) or a massive failure (significantly more probable). Only time will tell.
