If this was true - there are lot's of folks ahead of LSU in that regard and by your logic here are much badder boys.

It's perception with LSU, that's the bad boys rep - but when it comes to actual tangible evidence - Duke being one prime example where there is a paper trail not just hearsay on a tape transcript....if it's because of cheating in recruiting as you say - they would be pimped much more.

Perception is quite often reality.

I don't question that there are plenty of others who cheat, and perhaps do so more blatantly than Wade.
I don't see any of these schools adopting/celebrating these practices as part of their identity.
It's embarrassing to admit that you can't win without cheating.

I'll believe it when I see it. The achilles heal for LSU
under Wade has been physical teams. Those teams push us around because most of our players haven't been physical enough to hang with those teams big's down low.

We aren't celebrating cheating.

Our university and coach are being personally attacked for alleged practices which could be and has been alleged at almost every blue chip basketball program. Instead of folding to the criticism and standing down to return to basketball mediocrity, a majority of our fan base would rather wear the resentment as a badge.

In conclusion, its not about the cheating, its about the disproportionate coverage on the alleged cheating.

BULL S**t.
So we are printing the shirts now, "Victims of Disproportionate Coverage"?
No.
We are celebrating being Bad Boys. And not for our physicality.

Not the same thing.
And what WW is doing is not good for LSU or its basketball program.

Not surprisingly; but you are wrong on this assumption.

The FBI/recruiting stuff came out over 2 years ago. The whole "Bad Boys" moniker in reference to LSU just came about this past spring as a result of all the technical fouls LSU was getting.

It was referenced by media as saying Wade told his players (in private) that if they, meaning the rest of the SEC and country, are going to view them as the bad guys, the ones talking trash, etc., then don't run away from it and just embrace it b/c that view is never going to change. Therefore it is better to have teams hate to want to play LSU and use that as an advantage than to run from it and try to convince others that you really are good guys.

Does the recruiting stuff play into that some as far as how most other coaches view Wade? Yes. But not as it relates to the whole team.

AAU hoops is what created the sleazy under the table acquisition of talent with the middlemen that took advantage of all these players

So the FBI got their playbook, oh really, it took you 30+ years to figure out what was going on behind the scenes
I wouldn't be surprised if Vitale got payments to steer players to certain schools

True and the LSU/Bama rivalry is about to become as big on the court as it is on the football field.

That's if the LSU fans "buy in". To their credit, Alabama fans fully embraced the basketball team and their success last season. They were very much the majority in the SECT final...where the on the court rivalry between the staffs hit a boiling point.

I'm hoping the LSU fans remember Oats yelling "get the frick out of here" towards the LSU bench at the end of the SECT final and return the sentiment this upcoming season. There was once a time when the PMAC was a madhouse and FAR exceeded anything most of the SEC brought. Including Alabama. It would be fun to see a 2019-Vandy like atmosphere vs. Alabama this season (except with the vitriol directed to Oats rather than the LSU AD).

Other than Cal, the only coach that seems to draw the ire of LSU fans is Bruce Pearl. Why? He and Wade get along and have mutual respect. Plus, while intense on behalf of his team, Bruce is fun. Guys like Oats and Rick Barnes are the douchebags.

Barnes doesn't really bother me, but yea, I agree on Oats and Pearl. And of course Cal is always annoying.

I'm not saying I'm close friends with Calipari, because I'm not. But I have spoken to him over the last ten years (a few minutes at a time) at the EYBL tournaments that are usually held yearly in Hampton, VA.

People that attend these games are walking around with the coaches. When he sees me, he yells "Hey LSU", and we shoot the bull for a few minutes. He's told me that Wade is a "killer" and we're lucky to have him. He's not the douche he comes off as on tv. Of course, his job depends on making people he meets like him, so what do I know?

On a related note, although I haven't seen him there the last two times my son and I have gone, we spend a good deal of time watching the games with Bruce Hornsby. We met him there one year when we were decked out in LSU gear, and his son had just transferred to LSU. He is a genuine, nice dude.

I get it. Because Wade breaks the rules and engages in shady practices and when he gets called out for it, he plays the "us against the world" routine. Cool.

If only Wade followed the rules like Pitino, Krysweski, Gayheim, Self, Roy Williams, and ALL the other coaches that pursue the top players, maybe LSU would have a coach you could respect? Are you really that stupid??? Or are you related to Irish?

If you played monopoly, and got your $200 every time you passed go, but your opponents got $2k every time they passed go, how fair or competitive would that be. The bottom line is you are a SUCKER (and won't be there for long) if you coach big time basketball and don't break the rules.

If it's really that important for someone to stick to their morals then God bless them. But they SHOULD NOT be coaching in college basketball, because it's IMPOSSIBLE to have major success playing by the rules.
