Does anyone here know the SEC's policy on ejections for coaches?

seems like arguing balls and strikes is the one rule that could do it.

I actually applaud him for it. He felt it slipping away after last night and tried to do whatever he could to get his players and the crowd back into it.

Didn't work though.

He actually was successful in getting the crowd back into the game. Problem was, Walker pitched extremely well.

It looked to me he got the LSU players back into the game, especially Walker.

Our first base coach got suspended for 2 games earlier this season for arguing a call at first base that needed the game

This is just absurd with the technology we have. Electric eye, virtual strike zone, let a computer call it.

I realize that. The question is do head coaches get fined by the SEC for being ejected?

I remember a SEC football coach got fined for criticizing referees after a game....Spurrier, maybe?

Not sure he gets fined for that, I think if he gets on the media and starts some stuff, that would prolly bring a fine...

Thinking it is a 2 game suspension....I also think thats why tRant is on CPM to get thrown out of 1, 2 games without him would make this board happy happy...

It's one game unless it's post game and then it's the following game.
The conference can impose a longer suspension if they deem necessary.
More to it, but this is the quick answer.

Interesting answer. Unfortunately it doesn't address the question I asked.

Will Van Horn be fined, as in pay money for being ejected?

Ochinko had to miss two games for being tossed AFTER the UNO game was over. So I'd have to guess that Van Horn will have to sit two.

On the first time the Head Coach gets a warning. The 2nd time is a game suspension.

Ochinko got two games because it was a post game ejection and he's also an assistant. Any assistant that gets tossed is an automatic game suspension. I guess the NCAA puts emphasis on a post game ejection is the only reason I can think he got two games.

I think the SEC put in place regulations in 2009 that suspensions by the league if the ejection was egregious enough that a fine could accompany the suspension. ( i.e. Suspension without pay) .
I would be surprised if this applied to Van Horn .

He can be fined, but I don't see it happening.

Spurrier did not get fined, but it was mentioned at the time as a possibility.

Fining coaches is a relatively new thing with the SEC and was brought on, in large part, by Lane Kiffin gripping about officials publicly.
