All the talking heads are saying Lsu is headed on the same path as Florida, Tennessee, Michigan, Southern California, Notre Dame and Miami. Great coach leave or get fired and the program becomes an after thought.

My friend's the decline has been real since 2012 and it stops this season.

Lsu is an efficient offense from being back on top. The coach that inherits this team next season will have an embarrassment of riches at every position especially on offense.

I don't understand why media says "why would Herman want to go to Lsu when he has to play in the toughest division in football and battle Nick Saban every year when he has an easier road at his present school?" I heard this all day on radio and tv.

If Herman doesn't want to come to Lsu because it's in the toughest division with saban and he can rule a mediocre conference I would not want that type of coach. I want the competitor that wants to challenge the 800lb gorilla in the room.

If a coach is a competitor and want to make his mark. What better place to go with a head start on talent (freshman & sophomores or championship caliber) resources, prestige, recruiting, facilities, and loudest fan base on the planet? Sounds like all the same reasons Urban went to Ohio State except for the loudest fans part of course.

I agreed with the media on 1 thing, I see Herman entertaining only 4 programs Lsu,Texas,Notre Dame & SC. What does sc,Texas or nd have to offer that Lsu doesn't have? Check the talent level of these schools vs Lsu's talent, no comparison Lsu by a wide margin. Everything is equal with these 4 programs except Lsu is in the mighty SEC and has the talent to win now.

Sit back guys and enjoy this season because, whether it's Coach O or Herman if the defensive staff stays put, offense will be much better.

GEAUX TIGERS!!!

It could go either way. Coaching transitions are a crapshoot. A couple of guys turn you down, and suddenly you're at Plan C. Or you get your dream hire, and for some reason he just doesn't work out.

I really want to believe after the bovine feces show last year after the a&m game that they have to have their man already. I just want to believe it so bad.

2012 had 22 scholarship players missing. Really one tackle away from getting to Atlanta again. That was still a good team that any coach in the country would have struggled to keep on track.

The program will be fine with the right hire. Just like Les was at the time. But numerous times you have seen big name programs not getting their #1 guy and LSU most likely will be no different.

I don't think there was much of a "decline", but now I'm afraid there will be.

This could be true. Hire a homerun oc and I will definitely smoke a bag of what you're selling.

Depends on who LSU hires.

Far better programs historically (Texas, Tenessess, Nebraska, Michigan, USC) have gotten worse. If you were in Vegas your odds are that it will get worse before it gets better.

That's the risk of making a change.

Well I've already expiernxed 2 losses in September so I'm willing to be patient for future excellence

Just hope our next coach doesn't give up on defense

Do y'all realize the decline that lsu has been in the last couple years really? Over the last 5 years lsu is 11-9 against ranked opponents. We were well on track to regular 4-6 loss seasons. Heck we have loss 5 of our last 9 games and 3 of our wins were against Texas tech, Jacksonville state, and a Mississippi state team that anybody will admit is in a rebuilding year.
