Yea.

When you get two red cards and are ejected you have the miss the next match.

I would be more concerned about the umpire being able to work...PM chewed a pretty good piece of his arse off.

i thought I heard a sportscaster say it was an SEC rule when a coach war ejected for a game some time back; if I heard incorrectly I am relieved.

It is a rule for any coach ejected that is not the head coach. 1 game suspension for first ejection and i think 3 games for the next ejection. But none of it applies to the HC.

That's a pretty stupid rule.

Stupid rule, but we could make it work to our advantage and have Javi argue all future bad calls with the ump.

@EastAdvocate: Mainieri said he has to be "on my best behavior" the rest of the season because a second ejection would mean sitting out a game. #LSU

I guess it is a rule for head coaches too. Really bad rule.

I believe it's a rule in the Sun Belt conference since Tony Robicheaux (sp?) has had to miss a game for being ejected. Don't think it's a NCAA or SEC rule.
Even if it was, I'm sure he could appeal and wouldn't miss tomorrow's game.

That's just ridiculous - CPM had every right to verbally abuse that joke of an ump

Can someone describe what happened?

I heard it on the radio. Said a balk was called and Mainieri went out but stopped walking. The ump bumped him, not the other way around.

Is that what happened? I didn't see it.

after a RBI triple made it 3-2 SC in the 9th... ump called a (very questionable) balk on Cotton that brought in the 4th run

Mainieri ran out to complain and was immediately tossed

was there more leading up to it? probably but I wasnt in position to watch a good part of the game

ETA: FWIW it was either w/ 0 or 1 out and the batter at the plate hit a fly ball that would have scored the run anyway... but still... it's the principle of the thing
