I'd really like to see Matt sign another huge non-compete contract with an NFL team.

Flynn has made almost 18M from football and been sacked 39 times. Over 450k per sack. Guy flat out won at life. I'd call it a day and just fish and golf my arse off.

Da frick?

A few Mat Damon stand-ins a year would net more than that.

Yep, and got PAID!
edit to add: Flynn is solid if not spectacular. He will get picked up if he still wants to play.

Except for a few games in Oakland, he never really took a beating and made away with many millions. I'd say it was a successful career even he doesn't get picked up.

I know he bought a house in St. Francisville. My brother is the GM at Sonny's Pizza. Says Matt comes by about once a month for Pizza he hadn't talked much football though.

The Saints are in need of a quality backup.

They just drafted a QB.

There ain't any QB for the Texans that's significantly better than Flynn.

Most teams only keep two qbs on the active roster. I think best case scenario for matt is practice squad.

My Dolphins might give him a call. Joe Philbin was o/c in green bay

Don't think you can sign an 8 yr vet to the practice squad.

I've always liked Flynn, but he has had incredible luck or good management to garner the wages he has accrued from the NFL. He is a decent back up QB. Matt clearly is a winner in life and will come out on top, perhaps as a backup QB for a couple more years.

He would be a great back up for Drew Brees

There or with the Giants because of his familiarity with the coaches/system. Hope he gets a few more years with someone.

He hasn't looked good in a game since he played for Green Bay the first time. He has proved he wasn't good enough for Seattle, Oakland or Buffalo to keep him around. I think his days are done if Green Bay chooses not to keep him. At 30 he isn't exactly a proven backup commodity with great film to show for himself minus the one insane game in Green Bay.

He is done.

Kid has had a great run - roughly $18mil, less agent fees of course, appears to have a good marraige, no major injuries & an NFL pension - time for the next chapter in life - for anyone that has played or has a kid that has played, you understand just how damn hard it is to finally hang up the cleats - got a feeling this kid will be fine in whatever path he choses - happy for him
