Sounds dirty...

And why is Lamar looking for a baseball coach in January?

Looks like the guy is retiring at the end of the season. Will will be here until then.

Important to note: Lamar head coach Jim Gilligan is retiring at the end of this season. So Davis would likely remain at #LSU this season

Is that Jim Gilligan still?

I remember years ago Bertman was going to hire him as an assistant...was going to be "Skipper and Gilligan"

Can you blame him? He's been a volunteer (unpaid) coach for his entire stay at LSU. He does get some comp for his participation in the LSU baseball camps but that's not meant to be a career.

I'm happy for Will.

You mean he wants an opportunity to be a head coach as opposed to a volunteer assistant? Shocking.

LOL at the dude on my post earlier this week saying, "is that why the LSU baseball office knows nothing about it?"

Again, congrats to him.

That's not true at all.

FWIW: I'm to understand that the decision will be made next week whether he will be an assistant for the Cardinals this season or remain at LSU.

Will obviously didn't want the word to get out yet so your rumor was premature for his best interest.

I don't disagree, which is why I asked for the thread to be whacked.

I just think it's funny how consistently arrogant some rant posters are.
