It was exciting times watching Chris Jackson, Shaquille O'Neal, and Ricky Blanton along with other great LSU teams terrorize Kentucky and their fans. And who can forget the games against Loyola M. or against top ranked UNLV and the LSU student section hollering on national tv to the UNLV cheerleaders "show your tits". Young fans just don't realize how incredibly fun LSU basketball was and can be.

Will be exciting times again when the LSU administration finally gets serious and stops the decline of LSU basketball. Tiger fans and season ticket holders can no longer wait. Time to get serious now!

Period...
The whole institution is in a death spiral started by Gov. Jindal, aided by a decline of our La. economy.
In fairness, it was frail even before that time.

Wasn't the UNLV game played in the Superdome?

I find your use of "when" a little presumptuous. As long as the current clowns on the BoS are around, nothing is a given.

Back then while watching a game, the suspense was what kind of awesome play we would witness....huge dunk, arse beating the other team, 40+ for Chris Jackson! Now the suspense is whether we have a chance to beat any team or, if we have a lead, what shite will happen to aid in a loss. Sorry, but I speak the truth...... anyways,

Thx. It was my first LSU basketball game. I was 8 at the time so please forgive my memory lapse of the opponent.

Not just those years either. The Sweet 16 run in 2000 with Stromile Swift, Torris Bright, and Jabari Smith was a helluva run. That team finished the season ranked #10 in the country! John Brady was coach of the year, Stromile Swift was SEC player of the year! and Torris Bright was SEC freshman of the year!! PMAC was on fire that year.

Also you can't forget the 2006 team of Louisiana boys that went to the final four. Darrel Mitchell, Big Baby, Tyrus, and company. Those were two fun years that had the PMAC rocking!

Without looking, can anyone name the three best basketball teams in the SEC and one player on each of those teams? College basketball in general and in the SEC in particular is abysmal and boring. The SEC Network should replace some of its basketball coverage with Missouri wrestling coverage. At least we would see an Olympian in action.

It would be nice, but I'm afraid football has become even more important than it was in the 80s and 90s. Very few schools can claim multiple national championships in football and basketball let alone one national title in football and basketball.

Michigan State is one school that can claim multiple titles in basketball 1979 and 2000 and football in 1952 and 1965. Michigan has only one national title in basketball to go with their football titles. Florida has football and basketball national titles.

LSU is fully capable of winning titles in men's basketball, but since Dale left there's been a lack of commitment.

I'd like us to not suck and make the tournament once in a while. Not much to ask
