with two outs and Rhymes at bat? If he is out you take the bat out of your leading hitter's hands. If he is safe then they put Rhymes on and again you take the bat out of Rhymes' hands.

Get Katz in scoring position with Rhymes batting with 2 outs. They might not have walked Rhymes in a 5-1 game. Who really cares. It's 5-1.

damn that sounds crazy.
Katz isn't a blazer, but it's not like Fields and Jones have had a hard time getting a jump on this freshman catcher. the throw he had against Jones when he stole was not even close either.

and even though I think it was a fastball Katz still almost got there. it still was a close play that required Reaves to make a really good play on it.

sorry pal I though one of the great things about baseball was the ability to discuss things that happen did not know I was ripping Paul Maneiri or LSU baseball by discussing. If he is safe you have put him in scoring position and if he is not then you get a fresh count for Rhymes next inning... more plus than negative.

Yes, if he is out, you start off the next inning with your best hitter. If he is safe, you get him in scoring position with Raph up. It is a calculated risk.
