Why so much emphasis on the final Time Out? The prior 59 minutes did us in!

Ole Miss outplayed us for the majority of the game.

The emphasis on a single time out that would have preserved a few more seconds is silly.

How about stopping them on any of the third downs where we had an advantage?
What if you had decent game plan?
here's a thought, maybe you should have your team ready to play in an extremely important game.
Miles talks about respecting the opponent. Well, we obviously didn't and they whipped us.

during a game you have competition. There is an opponent trying to prevent you from accomplishing your goal. He deserves plenty of blame for our team playing like shite the other 59 minutes. I think Les deserves plenty of blame for benching one of the best running backs in the country and running single WR deep routes with Landry on the bench

The timeout has no opponent, just a mental blunder that every single person knows how to handle excpet Les. He even said his assistants were calling for a timeout but he overruled him.

While we probably wouldn't have won the game, we would have had 3-4 plays which gave us a small fighting chance.

Hell, he might have missed it under different circumstances

You see coaches make clock errors every season if you watch enough football. It is not unique to Miles.

The emphasis is because everything else in a game can be debated. Should have run more. Should've passed more. Etc etc. Just philosophical differences. But, you fricking CANNOT FORGET to call a time out in that situation. THAT is a 100% no brainer.

Would it have ensured we win the game? Of course not. But, it increases the chances to something above fricking ZERO!

The fricking idiot let a chance on the table for something COMPLETELY under his control.

I've never seen a coach not call a timeout there. Other coaches mistakes don't make Les' forgivable. He's getting paid elite money and should be held to those standards

It would also be different if this was the 1st clock management issue.

1. Tenn 2005
2. Ole Miss 2009
3. Tenn 2010
4. Penn State 2009
5. Ole Miss 2013

that is off the top of my head, I'm sure there are many more. I mean he called for a spike with 1 second left on the clock

It is always the coaches fault.

Do you think Les overrides Cam's offensive sets/play-calling?

This is by far one of the most popular avenues for rantards.

Because it's Les Miles... The majority of our fanbase doesn't like him because he's not Nick Saban... They stand in the back and softly clap for any of his accomplishments but as soon as something goes wrong, they pounce on him...

Not in this situation. There was still enough time to score. You play 60 minutes.

What's unique to Miles, is he has more than his share of them.

It is a micro-cosum of what is wrong with the poor decision process that consistantly is used in big games.

Exactly, should have slowed down the clock when we fell behind.

Actually, we shouldn't have abandoned the run on the last touchdown series. They couldn't stop us on the ground

We were lucky to be on the game with that muffed punt

I can tell some of u guy's never served your country. Les is the captain of the ship, no matter what happens he is responsible.
I agree with Tigerbait, why did we stop running the ball, O'l Piss couldn't.
