Why wasn't the game rescheduled for today or Monday being a holiday weekend and most people are off? Coaches always say that a team always improves the most from 1st to 2nd game. We needed this game before the Sec.??

So long as people continue to post the exact same question, I'm going to copy and paste my response...

quote:

Have any of you bothered to think past your own self interests as to how that would even be possible?

Could you have potentially kept the officiating crew in town to officiate? Maybe, but even that would be doubtful. But did you even consider the MASSIVE undertaking it is to put on a sporting event for 90.000 people? the security needed? The parking attendants? The catering and food which would have to be schedule to show up AGAIN today. Ushers, security, etc.

It would have been 100% impossible to play this game in front of a crowd today or Monday after already trying on Saturday. Impossible.

This isn't REMOTELY like 2005 and the Rita Tennessee game as that game was moved days in advance which gave the university time to replan and did not already go through expendables which could not possibly be replaced in under a day.

In short, there is no such contingency plan in the history of history that could have enabled LSU to tell everyone, "Hey...come back tomorrow and we'll try again."

Think 9-11 here. That forced nationwide rescheduling...so when we played AU the last game, so did everyone else in the SEC that lost that 9-11 Saturday's game. The SEC Championship was pushed back a week to accommodate the SEC schedule extending a week. Without knowing the details, I'll assume it was probably a legalistically clusterfrick getting all those pieces moved even two months out.

But LSU needs to be chastised because they didn't have a contingency in place for an event that has not happened in Tiger stadium since WWI.

Well...good news is that LSU fans are still miserable assholes, so there's something you can always count on!

I like fairy tales as much as the next toddler, but holy shite...

"Why didn't LSU just tell everyone to come back tomorrow?!?!?!!?"

Yep...no reason at all.

Like we're talking about getting the fellas together to play a pick up game at the fricking rec...
