Look for Randy Livingston to be brought in to help Jones with recruiting and Mike Sanders to help with x & o's and player development. Sanders was La player of the year in 77 & 78 ,three year starter for UCLA, ten year NBA career, assistant coach for 3 Nba teams, extensive head coaching in D leagues, and is currently head of player development for Utah Jazz. Played with Jones at De Ridder and lives outside of Dallas.

Since you played with James Sanders at DeRidder, that means you played for the legend Dale Skinner. LSU playes would be in for a culture shock if Coach Skinner was named the head coach!!!!!!

Saying he couldn't recruit because he was at NT.
Once again a poster said if he locks down Louisiana we will win. The 06 team was an aberration glen Davis Tyler Thomas and Tazmin mitchel were in the 04 high school class. That was unusual and hasnt happened
since. Please quit saying all he needs is Louisiana talent! We will be very poor if he gets the best of la!

Dale brown recruited nationally Stanley Roberts shaq Chis Jackson Jose varges were all from out of state!

I have seen you post this 20 different places. Where are you seeing that morehead state had a top 15 class?

Saban wasn't a great coach either before coming to LSU

saban was a guy constantly moving up the coaching ladder, winning at every level.

Jones has certainly done well at UNT considering their history, but he's also been there for over a decade without a sniff of interest from any other bigger programs. I also get it took him a while to build, but they haven't really been doing much of note in a shite conference since he got them up and running, just ok.

do the same all the time. I was thinking that if he recruited a top 15 class to morehead then why isnt he at the front of the line Even still thinking he should move up...

I know I sound like captain obvious, but LSU really needs to get lucky and find a diamond in the ruff again similar to Tyrus Thomas. Whoever the new coach is, he's gonna need to get lucky and find one fast to start putting the butts back in the seats.

This reminds me of those threads a few years ago when people wanted Les replaced with Dooley.

If LSU cant get Jones as a hea coach, maybe he could be a coach in waiting an concentrate his coaching efforts as a free throw shooting specialist

The issue with Johnny Jones is that he represents the PAST. With new coaching hires the fan base is looking into the FUTURE. New and upcoming coaches bring excitement to the fan base; something LSU has not had in men's basketball in a couple of decades.
