Why not bring Mike back on the field before games?

Auburn flies an eagle, Colorado has a buffalo run, OU and Florida State have horses. We literally kept our animal in a cage, not like it was gonna get out and kill someone. I thought it was badass when I was a kid at games and saw Mike out on the field. I heard a long time ago that they used to rattle his cage to make him growl at the other team. This is a badass tradition that needs to come back. Go ahead and downvote woke PETA people

I've never been able to fully reconcile while other schools can have their live animal mascots out there, but not ours.
The only thing I can think of is we keep ours in a cage, while everyone else has theirs in open air. Probably also has to do with the endangered species that is the Bengal Tiger.

It’s not about being woke. Dr. Baker is one of the least woke people you can meet and it’s his call. It’s about looking out for the best interest of Mike who had bad experiences with pyro and refuses to cooperate. Even when they did load him up for games, it was Mike’s decision to enter the cage.

PETA is a bitch and when you have a VET school that doesn't want to let the school do it. Your screwed.

It hasn’t happened yet but Colorado will lose their Buffalo. As liberal as that school is I am shocked it hasn’t happened yet. Just wait until that buffalo goes rogue and decides to not run into the trailer. Saw a few stories on it and the handles say they have little to no control over the Buffalo

Most are so drunk by 7pm just put a stuffed tiger in there and do some roar sounds on the PA, nobody will know the difference.

I'm pretty sure we don't even have the cage anymore. Also heard he doesn't want anything to do with getting into it.
Used to be very cool though. At one time they would park it right next to the visitor locker room door. There are stories of opposing players flat out refusing to leave the locker room until they moved it.

Because it’s not healthy for 100,000 foreign animals to be screaming at a wild animal in a cage that doesn’t know why he’s there. I’m not even a PETA guy but that’s just common sense y’all.
