Why LSU Fans Aren't Buying What Foley/Sankey Are Selling

"If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it is a duck."
"1. A realistic threat to Gainesville from Hurricane Matthew became apparent as soon as Monday afternoon, or 5 days before the scheduled game. Shouldn't that have provided plenty of time to work on contingency plans?"
"3.Florida's stubbornness and flat out arrogance with the "game will not be moved out of Gainesville" message certainly didn't go over well here. "
"5. Louisiana people are absolutely not insensitive to what Florida residents were facing. We've been through it multiple times. Baton Rouge and surrounding areas literally went through hell this summer (Alton Sterling shooting, shooting of multiple law enforcement officers, biblical flooding). We get it."
"Here's one other thing to note, you've heard LSU Athletic Director Joe Alleva be pretty adamant in multiple interviews that they bent over backwards to offer as many options as possible to play the game with Florida. Have you heard anyone on the Florida side or with the SEC deny anything Alleva has said?"

I would be more apt to believe them if any other school in Florida cancelled their game.

They can duck LSU all they want but the media has jumped all over this fact, as they should.
It's complete garbage how this has been handled.

It is complete garbage on how Florida and the SEC handled this situation.
What gets me is that some media outlets and Florida outlets call out LSU for handling it badly, and LSU did not. The trash came from Florida and the SEC.
If Florida didn't want to play in Baton Rouge, fine. No need to get all huffy about it.
But we all know why Florida did not want to play the game, and that is what is the big elephant in the room that will keep this game from being played at all. Florida tried, and so far has succeeded, to keep from losing a game.

That's why I hope we win out just so they look worse. If we lose out on Atlanta the consolation will be that O did outstanding and would have earned his shot and I don't want joe to make mistake USC did. O could be our Cajun Dabo who was position coach named interim and well u know the rest.

You think the current situation is bad, just wait until the SEC office decides to give both LSU and Florida a Loss for the game and credit Bama with an extra Win.

Hopefully JA was smart enough to handle all of his "bending over backwards" via emails or recorded phone calls. He needs to get that stuff made public.

LSU needs to succeed from the SEC. Period. There are no friends of ours in the Birmingham office...never has been...never will be. No "wink wink nudge nudge" from any officials. Ever. Just one butt frick after the other.

LSU has been trying to succeed in the SEC for many, many years now.

I was just explaining this play by Hester a few days ago on the forums. One of my favorite plays.
You can see the UF player's planted feet slide backwards about 2 feet when he was hit.
I loved watching Hester. He fell forward 2 yds every time so a 4th and 3 was a gimme.

New poster to this board.
Have been reading it for years and finally decided to join the conversation.
Scrolled through many threads and found this one.
Surely at this point the mantra is "just let it go."
Especially since the passing of LSU's beloved mascot, Mike VI.
Sure most of you know about his facebook page, though I'll link it here: LINK
However, to "just let it go" is exactly what the SEC wants LSU and its fans to do.
I'm not sure if the game will be played or not, but the SEC should be held accountable for either its collusion or ineptitude in the handling of the LSU/UF game. But either way the message is, intentional or not, "screw LSU."
So this is just a way of positing, STANKEY GEAUX HOME, as in resign or be terminated soon for this debacle.
Absolutely nothing about this past weekend makes sense with UF hosting recruits and every other team in the nation, including not least of all all of the Fla. teams, playing their games. And let us also not forget that all other UF sporting events went on.
Not bitter, though there should be some action taken to rid the SEC of this CLOWN Sankey.
The only way that can happen is for the situation with this past weekend to not be "let go."
Know the team and staff have prepared for the game LSU has ahead. That's important. And for those of us fans that still find this past week incredulous, we can continue to voice our disgust about what happened.

we essentially might as well have taken a loss now as far as our chances to make it to Atlanta go...
