Ohio state, ND, TCU for example. I probably am just being a homer as a tiger fan, but why do so many push so hard for these such teams to make it to the NC. Especially when time and again they get demolished when playing the SEC's most talented. I'd think that they would appreciate good football when they see it in the SEC,., it all cycles and right now the SEC is at the top, but many "analyst" can't wait for us to fall.

I have news for you. The sec isn't that great anymore. Other teams and conferences have caught up.

Most national media figures aren't from the South. Their audience/readership is also mostly not from SEC territory. Controversy sells.

Good points, I still believe the SEC is better, but the gap has been cut, at least by the PAC 12. The SEC east is really down.

How have you never been banned with the bull shite you spew?? Bama will win every game by double digits book mark that. The playoffs will be like their ooc schedule. A pure joke

I actually agree with the guy. There is not that big of a gap between the Pac-12, Big XII, and SEC when your looking at the conferences as a whole, at least this year. The entire east is garbage. The division winner lost to Indiana. The west has 1 very good team, 1 pretty good team and 2 good teams. The rest are meh at best. Over the course of time the SEC will be stronger than most, and I believe that mainly to the collection of coaches we have and the stupid amount of money we spend on football in this conference. This year the gap is not very wide though, that is unless you want to ride the coattails of Bama's success and see them as a representation of all schools in the SEC, at which point i would say your are an idiot.

Money talks and BS walks. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that 1/9/12 was pretty low ratings outside the deep South. The media want the Final 4 to be from all over, imo.

This playoff was contrived by the media so that they would have more to talk about. Under the BCS the CFB newscasts would be all bama, FSU, and Heisman talk. Now they have a lot of controversy.

That's why rather than accepting that in all systems to determine a champion someone is going to be left out. They just push for more teams. That way they have even more to talk about.

IMO there was nothing wrong with the bcs. Had it been in place today bama would be playing fsu and I think most would agree that those are the too 2 teams in the country.

But now we have 4 teams and now the media has more to talk about. They can talk about bama, Oregon, FSU, TCU, and the teams left out.

People have SEC burnout... Similar to teams within SEC being burnt out w Bama. Combo of everyone wanting to see a different conference succeed mixed with the need people have to have a "unique opinion" that is no longer unique.

Fact is we are closest to the NFL and have the best athletes, will continue to dominate... Deal with it

Well we and Ark played them even and both probably should have won. And Miss beat them. So they are a fair representative of the SEC West.

this. the rest of the country wants a piece of the pie also. you really can't blame them and the media wants the biggest audience they can get so their ads cost more. MSU folding at the end and no real power in the east answered their prayers. MSU could beat any damn team in that playoff. but the purpose of the playoff has little to do with fielding the best 4 teams in the country. whoever thought it was is naïve.

The media is there for only one reason. To sell the products on their commercials to as many people across the country as possible. The only way they can do that is to get a wide spectrum of people to watch the shows. If they told the truth the only fans watching would be from SEC states. Can't sell many commercials like that.

To be honest I'd just as soon hear they blow anyone else but Bama. I'm getting sick of that crap too.

Why do other SEC fans hate Alabama?

The answer to both questions is that folks under The Daddy, hate The Daddy.

Since the East side of the SEC is so weak, I think some of the other Conferences have caught up. We are still the best but it gets closer each year.

This, combined with the East division winner losing to Indiana and East teams getting swept by their ACC rivals. I know the East is way worse than the West, but it still doesn't look good.

Yes you did say this year and we as a conference are very young. But to say we are a STEP away from pac 12 and big whatever is simply laughable

I don't mind it. I do wish that we had an 8-team bracket, however. SEC, ACC, B1G, Big 12, and PAC 12 Champs and then some at large bids (i.e. possibly AAC, MWC, Independent, conference runner-ups, etc.).
