Catchers get more rest days than other position players.

So papierski feels like a team player.

And squatting for 3 hours sucks.

Catchers need rest. Plus if you look back, Romero hasn't been playing in many of the mid week games since becoming a starter.

good god man, let papierski play some baseball. it's a mid week game and he's a hell of a catcher.

it doesn't hurt to rest a catcher at times. it is a brutal position.

So if Romero has not been playing in many of these midweek games, could this be a reason we have struggled and not scored many runs???

I don't think CPM put him in the game yet.

Catcher's arms aren't immune to wear. They throw the ball more times than any player on the field.

Also, squatting for 15 hours a week is a bitch for the knees.

I can understand the mid-week rest, but PM has never explained, and will NOT be able to, why it took soooo long to get Romero into the starting lineup. Horrible way this was handled for roughly half this season. 31 starts for Romero in 52 games. When you hit like he has hit, all season, you find a place for him on the field. Coaching 101.

Coaching

That's not exactly PM's strong point.

Actually he did explain and all the other coaches did too. I don't have the link on CPM but I remember hearing it and the announcer on the tv broadcast say CPM tells them that in the pregame meetings. Nolan Cain and Andy Cannizaro have both said on the radio that Romero was hitting well but he needed to improve his recieving and he has and has closed the gap between him and Pap defensively to where they can justify him playing everyday. I know LSU is on a winning streak and we have to find something to complain about but all that matters is he is in the lineup now and this team is peaking at the right time.

You don't understand how windy it was earlier this season.
